What is citric acid used for, and how is it used in cooking and pastry making?
Citric acid can be used as an acidifier for beverages, jams and candied fruit.
It is suitable for use as a preservative and helps increase the firmness of jam jelly.
Citric acid has a very broad range of applications; it can, for example, be used to remove scale from bathroom fixtures and household appliances. Its effective anti-limescale action also makes it suitable for polishing sinks and taps, as well as dishes in a dishwasher when used as a rinse aid.
